I now know, by an almost fatalistic conformity with the facts, that my destiny is to travel.

$1,000,000 dollars in the bank isn’t the fantasy. The fantasy is the lifestyle of complete freedom it supposedly allows.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views on men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
Money, of course, is still needed to survive, but time is what you need to live. So, save what little money you possess to meet basic survival requirements, but spend your time lavishly in order to create the life values that make the fire worth the candle. Dig?
